This year I've been delighted to be asked to join Flagstaff Gallery in Auckland. A beautiful contemporary gallery base in Devonport I now have representation again on the North Island since the previous gallery that represented me sadly closed down.
During the Covid 19 Lockdown, Gallery de Novo came up with the idea to ask their artists to create postcard size paintings of their environments at the time. After the lockdown was over we then sent them down to Dunedin for a small exhibition with the art retailing at only $190 each piece. I loved having the time to create during this strange period of being at home for weeks. My husband came home with theses tiny macarons as he was doing the shopping for a few families. They were a nice little treat when we couldn't go out for coffees! We were encouraged to write the stories on the back of the postcard. A great reminder of that time. Here's one of my four works on paper on the table I set up by the garden to paint.
Occasional thoughts from an artist who just loves to paint.
